This one never really grabbed me but it was relatively short and quick to read. I gave it a 3.

2, was a task finishing it. Parts I loved but it had a habit of dying out.

I would say put it towards the bottom of your must read for SK but Jean would kill me.
Did I type that out loud? Oops.

Hopefully without spoiling:

The story is almost a ghoststory of sorts narrated by a police officer about a ghost car that they have had in their possession for some time. The car has some similarities to christine, in that it can heal itself and seems immune to aging, etc. However, it is likely a portal to another world, and has malicious intents. Some very strange happenings are associated with the car (strange lights, plants and animals from other worlds). All of the officers seem to have a story to relate about the car, and they are obviously afraid of it. The main character in the story discovers that the car and he have a mysterious history together.

The story is also a homage to H.P Lovecrafts "From Beyond" which shares thematic and plot elements.

Loved this story, a 5 from me

The story of the police officers is the big pull for me, with the car kind of being secondary

So the question is:
Do dogs hate police dogs like people hate policemen?

silly, where did I ever say I didn't like King's love stories? Look at this thread (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?619-Journeys-End-in-Lovers-Meeting-Great-Love-Stories-as-a-Byproduct-or-Side-Effect) I started ages ago.

And I don't remember ever saying that I disliked 1/22/63 because of the love story.

I owned this book for years, then finally read it just to check it off the list. I don't know why, but I expected it to be so-so and was at peace with that going in. Imagine my surprise when I found that I loved this story. Jean's posts summarize my feelings and "rating" well.
