not in my Top Six, but close. I've held it in very high regard since I first read it.

Interesting :)

This is another one of the few that I still have yet to read. And thanks to you Jean I think my next few books are going to be King

This is an amazing book. The horror just leaps off every page. And it's the horror of the real--no supernatural elements. Annie Wilkes is one of the great horror creations of our time. I think I was cringing with every turn of the page. And it's a testament to King's talents that even the silly romance "story within the story" held my attention.

5!

5. Not room for it in my top 5, but it still must be a 5.

This one ROCKS!! Annie Wilkes scared the crud out of me with no supernatural powers at all. She was one mean baddie. The scariest thing of all was the possible reality of the whole scenario. I don't know about anyone else but Kathy Bates and James Caan were awesome in the movie version which I think was also top notch.

Uh-oh! Bite away. I gave this a 4. I really liked it, but had to give it a 4 to keep it in its place. I didn't want its head getting too big or anything ...

Just for the record, while Misery didn't officially qualify for Round 2 at this time, it got a very high score anyway, and like in prior years, will probably be in the second round as there will be six non-winners and non-runners-up as wildcards promoted after the conclusion of Round 1.
