That Boneland is awesome. It reminds me of a book Zeising press did where the book was jailed in a prison cell. Mephisto In Onyx by Harlan Ellison.
I could never find one for sale at any price.

The Boneland and Zombie Jam both came from giveaways Mike/gunkslinger did. :D The traycase is metal and when you pull the electric chair's switch it makes a buzzing sound like you would expect an electric chair to make.

That Ellison book sounds amazing and he is one of my favorite writers.

I'm happy you opened a thread finally, Brice! Of course, I was immediately jealous since the first four books you posted here are ones I don't have.

Now that you mention it, I remember when you won those giveaways way back when. Gunk gave away some great stuff. That BONELAND traycase is brilliant!

It was just a matter of time before I opened a thread. I believe I've shown most of the rarer ones, but I still have plenty more pics to post when I have the time.

Yes, I love that myself. I spent the first five or ten minutes after I got it flipping the switch on the electric chair traycase.

Actually I forgot about it until yesterday when I linked my brother to the thread. I really am planning on more pics though. :D

Nice stuff, Brice. Thanks for posting those.

It seems to me that Jessie is enjoying herself a little too much on the cover of this book. The dust jacket must represent the time period before Gerald had his heart attack. It certainly isn't later in the book!

I forget about all the interior artwork. It is nice to see some of it again. I read the stories once and then put the magazines into bags and hardly ever take them out again to look at the artwork.

Is the artwork for "Gramma" in the Weirdbook by Allen K.? It looks like his work.

I'm not positive. I'll take a look when I get home this aftenoon.

Every once in awhile I pull them out to look at the artwork. I'm currently working on taking pics of the covers and all the artwork in all the mags I have excepting what I have in storage.

Thanks Linda! :huglove: I've built my little collection over the course of about a dozen years now, getting progressively more "serious" about it. I started out here with no possesions except for one backpack (I hitchhiked here from VA) full of clothes when I got here and started trying to just get a copy (paperback or hardcover) of each book and short story collection. I just bought something new whenever I had a little spending money. In that time I've accumulated enough to fill maybe two of those 6 ft. tall cheap bookcase kits they sell at places like Walmart. Quite alot of my collection are also gifts that friends have given me too.

Fer: Yeah, I just got a new camera. I'm used to one where your options are point and shoot so I'm still figuring things out. I've still got quite a few more to post though and you'll be able to see they got better. Later on I figured out how to kill most of the glare on the covers too. It took awhile though.

I love it too. It's a good story also.

Liisa: Oh yeah, I love foreign editions. There is no real focus with that part of my collection. Right now I have at least one of german, japanese, korean, hungarian, turkish, and french editions. Finnish of course would be more than welcome and appreciated should your evil plans come to fruition. :D

Mine is also pretty automatic (which i hate btw :P) but it is great what you can come up with using Macro to focus.

And yeah, glare is a bitch :P, i had to take pics of my Grant books when i made the wallpapers. I cropped the titles and the SK logo from that pics, and the glare on the dj cover was making things a lot harder :P

Brice
05-08-2009, 10:36 AM
Most of the ones I have to post are in the mylar dustjacket protectors (which worsens the glare) . After about a half hour or so I was able to figure out just the right angle in my room to basically eliminate it.

If I got too fancy of a camera I think my pics would be considerably worse cause I wouldn't know what I was doing. It does have macro on it though. Before these I just used the built in cam on my macbook which is not ideal for taking these kind of pics.

I also have a couple King items that if not unique are damn close to it. I could post pics now but why do that when I can give a carlosdetweiller style tease. Nah, I'm just waiting on them to get here. I'll try to get more stuff posted before then though. :)

I LOVE foreign editions. I've maybe got about fifteen or twenty total if I were to guess.

I'm also seriously considering investing in the same bookcases Bob has between the end of this year and the beginning of next. They are gorgeous. It's just hard to spend that much on something that isn't a book.

Good stuff, Brice!

For some of the magazines where King's name does not appear on the cover (such as those Yankee mags), you might consider stating which of his work is contained therein. Just a suggestion for those of us who cannot keep mental track of everything. No worries if that would slow things down too much.

The Sleep Disorder and Triage and Girl Next Door trade are my only HCs by Ketchum and the first two are the only ones signed. I have quite a few mass markets though. Yeah, I really like that blood splatter effect too. It must be hard to position the book just right as you're splattering the blood.

I didn't get around to posting any more pics today. Hopefully I can tomorrow.

It's funny how similiar our collections/photo taking-skills are. In the beginning when I bought a bunch of magazines, I took pictures of the front covers, the back covers, the table of contents, the stories themselves, etc, lol.

I enjoyed going through your Collection Thread. Now update the damn thing! lol

The book isn't particularly big. I'd say it's an average trade...maybe just a little taller.

Standard size. I LOVE Lebbon. Fears Unnamed is my favourite of his and it's really just a collection of novellas. For the Lebbon noobs, I'd say that would be a great starting point. I'm glad he's getting some love on TDT
