This riddle game is fairly simple.

The riddlemaster gives a small word and a description of some sort of a larger word that contains the small word.

Here is an example;

What "ant" has little or no meaning?

Ans: insignificant

Ok

Someone start this show.

It makes dirty things clean.

(Guys, cry your pardon but how can sunshine or moonshine make anything clean? I am not a native speaker so your answers might be good...)

Moonshine is practically all alcohol, and alcohol can be used as a polish. It cleans everything.

The sunshine thing, I have no idea. :)

It makes dirty things clean.

(Guys, cry your pardon but how can sunshine or moonshine make anything clean? I am not a native speaker so your answers might be good...)

1. Moonshine is practically all alcohol, and alcohol can be used as a polish. It cleans everything.

2. The sunshine thing, I have no idea. :)

1. Woooow! I can learn new thingd every single day. (moonshine and alcohol?? is it a slang or what?)
But anyway... when we talk about alcohol our first thought is not polishing...
If I thad thought of moonshine as alcohol I would have asked: "Which sine makes you drunk?"
But I am not a native speaker so I can accept if you say Zone was right with it. :D

2. Now I am not alone with it.

ZoNeSeeK

Zone, Jon - you can go, who is the quicker?

ZoNeSeeK
11-04-2007, 04:59 PM
Letti: Ah I see - the word is spelt machine though, which is probably the reason for some confusion :) so chine = "sheen" sound, shine = "shyne" sound

he he he, dont worry about it though! :grouphug:

I think you have missed the spirit of this thread John and Yoko.

1st post (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showpost.php?p=54693&postcount=1)

"This riddle game is fairly simple.

The riddlemaster gives a small word and a description of some sort of a larger word that contains the small word.

Here is an example;

What "ant" has little or no meaning?

Ans: insignificant"

John_and_Yoko
09-10-2008, 04:36 AM
I don't see how I have--though I fear I'll have to give away the answer in order to prove it....

Jon
09-10-2008, 11:08 PM
Well the point is that part of the name of the city should be in the word "gossipers." As you haven't any letters in quotes in the word "gossipers," I guessed you didn't understand. Now I see maybe you just forgot to put quotation marks around the letters.

John_and_Yoko
09-11-2008, 06:23 AM
Maybe "gossipers" wasn't quite the right word....

Okay, so:

What "city" is known for its excessive talking?
