View Full Version : The words she spoke were of forgotten lives, And of all knowledge gained

Of two like events and 3 forces I speak.

One ended in the sea, the other at the mountain’s peak.

The King protested one force, but to no avail.

Only one force did the Pope derail.

Now some discount this or call it a mental epidemic.

Each event, instigated by a simple mystic.

"Youthful foolishness" some said

Some thought them cherubs, others predicted them dead.

At the sea they expected the old Moses trick.

And walk to take the chosen land from the heretic.

But the trick never came.

Salvation arrived falsely in God’s name.

Deceitful men offered ships

Some sunk, the survivors, the men’s conscripts

the "2 like events and 3 forces" is still confusing me :(

Jon

The events are not well recorded and much disputed but the version I found most realistic is that there were three crusades (three forces) and one was succesfully turned back by the Pope. Which left two crusades (two events.)

This one is solved!
