Nice FIRESTARTER! I have also been on the lookout for a nice copy to upgrade my 'export edition' and I got one yesterday. I don't think mine looks as smooth as yours, though. It has a bit of creasing on the DJ spine ends (no shelfwear and no tears though).

I'm not real big into comics, but couldn't pass this up.
Gunslinger Born S/L Jae Lee, #1 of 125,

Very nice! And I think you will have a good chance of finding a reference list somewhere here: http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/forumdisplay.php?12-The-Comic-Tower

(I'm not sure because I don't collect or read the comics so I don't really visit that part of the forum but Turtlex used to do a thorough job, I think)

The problem is that Turtlex (who is a 'she', by the way) has not been active online for a long time now. That's why Ari was installed as the new Comic Tower Moderator. Perhaps he will be able to update the checklist.

My 7th World Fantasy Convention Limited's #79 & #221
This is different sort of cool, on page 79 is a short story "The Bird and the Album", an excerpt from chapter 13 of a work in progress, a new book named "IT".
Of the majority I see listed for sale, the owners have no idea of the number/limitation sheet on the last page.
Also has an advertisement in the back promoting "Cujo"

Sorry my error, regarding the Fantasy reader.
I wrote S/L, mine is numbered/limited not signed.
Quite a few were signed by various authors during the event, I don't believe there was ever an attached signature sheet.

Want to sneak in both my UK Schindler's Ark & US Schindler's List books
The UK "ark" is in amazing condition for a true 1st, My US "List" jacket is not great but I'm still quite happy.
For me, these were hard to come by.

Stuff about King including the Essential Stephen King #79
It's not signed by SK, but has the complete "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came" story
Stu at Bettsbooks (original brick & mortar) was kind enough to obtain this number for me.
Book on the far left "Stephen King collectables" was my original Kingfo bible (seriously well used)

Are there any #79s out there that people just won't part with? Or maybe their asking prices are insane?

Yes & Yes,
Some don't want to bother, It's my passion not theirs
Some are very accommodating, Special thanks to people like Iowabob (pics to come)
Seriously, sometimes it's a lot of work & negotiating.
All I can do is ask, most the time it's fun.

S/L Salem's Lot # 79

At the time I bought this one I thought "Are you Kidding me" $470.00
I've got to be outta my mind... Then, I asked for #79, received #85 (I think, can't exactly remember)
Later saw #79 on eBay for around $1100.00 (I think, can't exactly remember) - bought it
Sold #85 on eBay for around $1000.00 (I think, can't exactly remember)

Nice book! (GAUNTLET 2).

BTW - I here the Mathematical Society of Numbers and Things One Can Count, or MSNTOCO, pronounced "mfffftptui!", is debating on whether or not to eliminate the number 79 from all numerical systems, past, present, future and any and all other dimensions which may be discovered. Tough luck for you! My sympathies.

Thanks Biomieg,
Actually, there happens to be one in Europe (#79 ES) that I really really would like to have.
but.. Since I don't own one or have the money to buy one (to offer as an exchange), I'm out of sorts on this one.
Also I haven't even considered approaching the owner yet because of the above mentioned.
My plan was to buy Iowabob's as a possible exchange with cash or whatever, but since I'm down to eating dog food, I figure I'll wait for now.

Merlin1958
The "Dolso" case is amazing, but my Salem's Lot is already slipcase'd ?
Does the Dolso case house the whole thing entirely slipcase and all ?

Regarding NR 79

ES EP 79 probably change with the owner..... good idea. Think Schnie the owner will never ever sell
his nr 79 ES but a change... GOOD idea...

The other 3 German limited SK nr 79 books... The NEBEL... Is maybe one of the destroyed books...
When i see the DADD + Angst nr 79 i info you ... again:onfire:

I remember the īseveralī ES EP original wrapped books, offered from the USA think 2009 all
offered all arround 400 Euros + delivery :arg:

The items in the Pass On The Read program don't have to be expensive or rare, just send something you think the next person would enjoy.

I've received:
1) a proof of The Best American Short Stories: 2007
2) a UK Under The Dome paperback
3) and a package of awesome items: Joe Hill's The Cape hardcover graphic novel, Blood In Your Ears S/L chapbook signed by Kevin Quigley, a Scarface graphic novel comic signed by the main writer, a four author S/L chapbook called Blood Splattered & Politically Incorrect (signed by Del James, Brian Keene, Thomas F. Monteleone, and Lee Thomas)

I've sent:
1) a Dark Tower VII proof
2) a The Waste Lands S/L portfolio signed by Ned Dameron
3) and two starter proofs (Rose Madder & Bag Of Bones)

I POTR as a SOP, but love the fact that it has an official name and program. It is truly a unique character (?) of this community and I think the world in general could benefit greatly from this type of thing!!!

I don't so I may be making a fool out of myself ;) but I'm assuming yours is the more common state. I don't have access to my books right now but I believe that the more common state has illustrated endpapers, while the copy I have for sale has black endpapers/pastedowns plus a slightly different DJ - it may be the other way around but either way, I know that I have the scarcest one left.

The caricature of the band was created in 2003 by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist David Horsey and is signed by members;
Stephen King, Amy Tan, Dave Barry, Scott Turow, Mitch Albom, Greg Iles, Matt Groening, Roy Blount Jr., James McBride, Ridley Pearson, Sam Barry and Kathi Kamen Goldmark.
The image is approximately 11 x 17 inches and printed on archival stock, floating mount, UV museum glass, final size 18" x 24"

Firestarter
At the same time my RBR Litho was in for framing I also had Whelan's Firestarter re-matted & framed.
Unfortunately they made the frame incorrectly the first time.
I acquired this over 10 years ago directly from Whelan's retail site (Glass onion I believe)
The image is an approximately 11" x 14" photo stock, double mated, UV museum glass, final size 19" x 23"
Both will hang in my home/office once it's completed.

I like that lithograph. There's only one person on it who I do not like. It's not King or Groening, those guys rock!

The frame and matting you chose compliment the lithograph perfectly Richard (can you come over and consult on some of mine sometime??)

Really like the Firestarter litho. Is it an "AP" or artist proof? Also interesting because he signed it on the left side. Most (all?) of the ones I have seen he has signed on the right side. Good job on the framing!

Great job on the RBR and Firestarter framing. You've inspired me to get off my arse and get my RBR framed.

Both look excellent Cook! Very nice job.
Glad to have helped with the RBR litho. I really love the texture and weight of the paper they used for that. No expert but Im going to guess its a linen of some kind.
Just wish the band name was on there somewhere.

This is my primary Double Day + shelve, it's missing my other copy of "The Stand", still need some rearranging in order to fit.

Wow. I just spent sometime going through your thread. It is absolutely amazing. You have wonderful books in fantastic condition. Plus the dedication to the number 79 is really impressive. I am in the part of my collecting where I want to find F\F copies of the early Double Day books. I already have them all but not in the best shape. Your DT books are also fantastic. You should be proud of this collection. I think you looked at my collection a while ago but a lot has changed. I wish you luck in your continued collecting.
