Someone here suggested that I post my SK collection so here it is. There is nothing real fancy here(even some old library books!) but many of these books are real treasures to me. I'm a new collector so hopefully over the next couple of years I can start getting rid of the book club editions, library editions, etc and replace with some real nice collectables.

Sweet ... whats that Frankenstein piece on the bottom shelf???

Its a "1983" Marvel graphic novel with a pretty nice introduction by Mr. King and illustrations by Bernie Wrightson. Pictured below (although somewhat blurry) is the 83 graphic novel and the hard cover of this same title published by Dark Horse (which I just got today and it is a very nice book).

If you like his work check out mhb press on the web. The guy running the publishing house is really cool and easy to work with...plus he is out of England which probably makes it better for you.

I've had about six copies of the US one and I've had the UK for a couple of years now but only after posting this picture (of my own copies) did I notice that it's not just the background color - the picture is slightly different as well!

Anyway, the UK one is slightly harder to get but a little temptation every now and then... doesn't hurt at all, no it doesn't!!

Enterprise Incidents which features reviews of SK's work through 1984. Neat little comic/magazine and this one is in great shape:

Pet Sematary Script from Laurel Entertainment noted as first draft and dated 1985. Don't know if it a "true" original script but I thought it was cool:

Ben, Pretty cool
Is Weird Tales bound by the publisher or was this an aftermarket idea?

Well I'm not positive but it looks like this was bound by Terminus the publisher of Weird Tales. The main reason I bought this besides having an SK story and some cool signatures was the fact that I could only find two of these for sale ( on biblio.com) for quite a bit more then this one so I thought it may be a good investment.

Illustration from TBOB:

I thought these were pretty cool and I loved the covers on both. TBOB was published in 1975 and has some wonderful illustrations. Durandal was published in 1981 and also has some nice artwork. This book is signed by the author (I think) and one of the illustrators. Thanks Grant for keeping these books in great shape all these years as they are truly treasures to me.

Thanks. I don't see a price on the DJ (which had me worried when I bought it) but the copyright page does state "First Printed in 1988". So maybe I have a first edition book and a BCE DJ? Either way I paid $4.95 for the book so it's not like I'm out big $$ :)

It is probably not a BC edition. Hodder used to (I don't know if they still do it or not) not price dust jackets that are destined for international sales. You may have one of those.

Yeah, it's most likely an export edition. Always ask for the DJ price whenever you buy a UK trade edition online. I've had to 'upgrade' several UK books in the past (Christine, Cujo etc.) because they turned out to be export editions (but not everyone cares, of course).

My wife picked the frames and mattes without me being present and I was surprised how much the above frame looks like another members here. If I remember correctly I think Tom framed his with a gray(ish) color as well.

Here is a Glen Chadbourne "spooky" family portrait:

It amazes me that people have the resources to collect other authors as well, lol. Indeed. I do collect a few other authors but I only try to find their 1st editions. Limited editions and obscure work our mostly out of the question (although I do have a couple of Robert McCammon and Joe Hill signed editions but none of them were over $75).

Anyway, nice acquisitions, Tim! It's always refreshing to see nice non-King books!

I don't. I do have a collection of non-king s/l books, but non-king sl = a whole lot less money most of the time. The bulk of my non-king stuff were bought from one member here in what ended up being unofficial "lots" where i paid in installments.

Thanks on the compliments guys. My collecting is pretty much limited to whatever grabs my fancy. LOL! I actually like the pop-up book and so does my daughter. It was her first introduction to Mr. Kings writing. I also somehow managed to acquire three copies of Four Past Midnight. I'm not sure how or when that happened but I only realized it yesterday after I moved my collection. I always thought that I could live with the poor copies I got from 2nd hand bookstores and eBay when I didn't know squat about 1st editions and DJ condition.... but in the end I could not. You've caught me there. I am very excited to read this book. On a side note the dust jacket of this book did "stick" ever so slightly to the end-papers which resulted in some very minor damage to both items. Anyone have any suggestion why this would happen?

Yep... it was mine. There was stickiness to both the front and back, where the dustjacket stuck to the inside cover. When I tried to remove the dj, some of the greeen from the book's edges ended up on the dustjacket, leaving several white spots on the book's inside cover.

Sorry that it happened to your copy too. But... I shipped the book back to Grant, Karen got it the other day, and already sent out a replacement copy yesterday! So, if you wanted to do the same, they are obviously more than accomodating.

It was such minor (very minor) damage that I'm not going to sweat it. I just thought it was odd and the damage could have been worse If I hadn't been very gentle in removing the DJ. I was cautious specifically because of your post bdwyer19. Thanks.
