Both excellent, gritty series. It'll be interesting to see which one comes out on top.

I really want to check out The Wire. Especially since Aidan Gillen was cast in HBO's upcoming "Game of Thrones". I've heard nothing but good stuff regarding him.

The Shield is an excelltn show, but it's not a "feel good" type of program. If it helps anyone decide whether to watch it or not, I know Sai King really enjoyed the program as well.

The same can be said about The Wire, though I don't know what King's view on it is.

Would be kinda weird seeing both Mad Men and The Wire (which some claim to be some of the best series ever) out in Round 1.

The Wire is one of the most overrated shows in the history of cable television. The Shield, on the other hand, is probably the best pure cop drama I've ever watched-not that I'm a fan of cop shows, or procedurals in general.

Chiklis, hands down.
