Stephen King to sign a book
from your collection
Very Rare Opportunity

For our 2010 Fund Raiser for the Haven Foundation. Stephen King has graciously agreed to sign the Grand Prize winners book of choice.

Yes, you have it right. Stephen King will sign a any book (that he wrote) from your personal collection. This is a rare opportunity because we all know SK does not allow fans to send him books and doesn't even sign fan books outside the current book on signing tours.

I have let SK's office know how much we appreciate this very cool favor on behalf of the site.

All you have to do to be involved in the drawing is donate at least $20.00 by May 15th of this year. I encourage everyone to dig deep and try and send something over so they can be involved in this amazing opportunity.

If you win and do not have a book for SK to sign, we will provide one for you.

Marsha made it clear that SK has not been accepting every request these days so we are very lucky that he is willing to do this for the site.

Please get involved in the fund raiser if you can.

Ho-lee cow!

04-27-2010, 10:46 AM
Wow, if I win I can get my copy of Twilight signed by King. :cyclops:

j/k, of course, but it did say ANY book. :P

Seriously, this is just amazing.

04-27-2010, 11:01 AM
Holy jeebus!

Brice, you crack me up! Why don't you send him a copy of Rage while you are at it or your S/L Under the Dome.

Let's play the game, "What would you have SK sign?"

Carrie 1st/1st for me most likely. Mayyybe a Gunslinger 1st/1st

04-27-2010, 11:05 AM
I don't have the s/l under the dome. I also don't have Rage, but I think that would be a nice choice for a book to send him.

04-27-2010, 11:17 AM
Okay...I have to be as lucky as last year! :)

04-27-2010, 11:25 AM
It would have to be my UK Stand or Night Shift, I think... or maybe my Talisman or Uncut Stand proof...

04-27-2010, 11:30 AM

Good point Brice. I changed that a bit. :D

04-27-2010, 11:56 AM

I think King would be mortified if someone had really done what I was joking about.

04-27-2010, 12:01 PM

How freakin cool is this!!!!!!!!!

Wow !

04-27-2010, 12:36 PM
that's awesome!
And can we bring it, if we are feared it gets lost? :cyclops:

I would hesitate between two : french CREEPSHOW, or french review copy of CARRIE (1st ed)

04-27-2010, 12:43 PM
This is just such an amazing grand prize.

Matt, you have out-done yourself again.

04-27-2010, 12:45 PM
If I won, I think I'd have Uncle Stevie sign my old battered copy of the Wastelands or IT.

04-27-2010, 01:03 PM
SK will not sign Rage anymore, so please do not send him a copy of Rage. :)

I'm sure he would be happy to sign any S/L book that already has his signature if you want to send it. hahahaha!

I think I will send him my NF set of Castle Rock Newsletters. That's kind of like one book... :P

Or maybe the 1st/1st of Better Than Home by his son. That'd be cool if he and his son both signed it. Like a "Good job, son" kind of signature. ;)

04-27-2010, 01:05 PM
I specifically asked Marsha if there was something he would not sign, she didn't mention anything.

I do think the book should be one of his though Curt.

04-27-2010, 01:05 PM

Think I'd have to go with my Gunslinger 1st or maybe Carrie!!

04-27-2010, 01:06 PM
That is an awesome grand prize!

04-27-2010, 01:53 PM
:onfire: That is one amazing grand prize!

04-27-2010, 02:34 PM
A Great Man being Gracious for a Great cause!
I have felt bad that have not made a substantial donation this year either by donating for the auctions or even by bidding... however times have been tough...
Have planned to be sure to get some at least minimal donation in before the fundraising ended and ....Wow what more incentive does anyone need.

04-27-2010, 03:44 PM
Hey Matt, If we have won an auction this year, are we in the drawing?

I would probably get my beaten and battered, rerererereread copy of It signed.

04-27-2010, 07:05 PM

04-27-2010, 08:36 PM
I'm with BC, what (if anything) qualifies us for this drawing besides a donation. I still plan to donate, so no worries for me.

04-27-2010, 10:51 PM
wow, thats a really great prize.

04-27-2010, 11:07 PM
Btw, would it be flatsigned or can we ask it to be personnalised?

Good luck everybody!

04-28-2010, 02:41 AM
Since the winner will be supplying the actual book - I'm guessing Sai King will personalize it.

This is just the coolest thing ... ever.

Best of Luck to Everyone!!

04-28-2010, 05:33 AM
I think MR. King will NOT sign. an Edition Phantasia Book or an Transgalaxis Book:cry:

04-28-2010, 06:19 AM

And yeah, what does "donation" mean? Like if you won an auction for $100 does that get me in the drawing?

And will it be personalized?

04-28-2010, 06:48 AM
I am not sure about the personalization you guys, I think a note slipped into the book with your name on it would be a good idea.

If you have won an auction, you are in.

04-28-2010, 12:00 PM
Oh. My. Word.

Matt, I didn't think you could top last year, but this is amazing

04-28-2010, 01:11 PM
What book to choose?!?!?! Poo on toast....but with my luck, I can almost guarantee I won't win! LOL

04-28-2010, 01:19 PM
Maybe I will have him sign my "misfed" Signed Limited US Under the Dome book.

It has the normal signature page and then a slightly shorter page that where the binder double-fed a 2nd signature page for 2 signature in it.

This would be 3. hahhaha!

04-28-2010, 02:39 PM
Fantastic prize, Matt! Great job! And a hearty thank you to Marsha for facilitating the request and SK himself for agreeing to do it.

If I were to win, I would likely request that he inscribe my DMG 1st Edition of THE GUNSLINGER.

04-28-2010, 04:06 PM
I'm not sure if I'd get something I already own signed or if I'd buy something just for the occasion.

vacant lot
04-29-2010, 05:30 AM
This is awesome Matt. A real honor too. I have a well read and worn copy of The Stand - I think he might like that.

Don't forget to say Thankee Sai.

04-29-2010, 06:25 AM
SK will not sign Rage anymore, so please do not send him a copy of Rage. :)

Not true

04-29-2010, 05:44 PM
Oh! I heard because of Columbine he wouldn't sign it. Never actually asked him though, so I stand corrected! :)

04-30-2010, 12:34 AM
So, since im new to the process...do we just donate and tell you..is there something that we need to show that we did donate? whats the process involved?

04-30-2010, 12:47 AM
When you pay via paypal you can also write a message so in the message you can write your name on here! :)

04-30-2010, 01:10 AM
Tito has it right. There is a link under the donation bar on the main page that you can go to.

I will get the message on my paypal so no worries there but please do write your member name in the comment field so I can make sure it is recorded correctly.

And thanks for the interest.

04-30-2010, 06:13 AM
seriously? :panic: I will get some money ...for a chance like this! A~M~A~Z~I~N~G!

04-30-2010, 07:19 AM
Sounds good. Thank you everyone.

04-30-2010, 09:15 AM
What if we forgot to write our member name? Is there any way we can go back and do that?

04-30-2010, 12:53 PM

PM sent too. hehehe! Better safe than sorry!

05-01-2010, 01:39 AM
Not many Ceri s in this forum so I guess you know I've sent my payment :)

05-01-2010, 07:49 AM
Unbelievable prize! :excited: Wishing now I hadn't closed my paypal. It got hacked and I was out several hundred dollars due to the bank account link. Fortunately paypal refunded the money and I then promptly closed the account.

Also wish I was more the autograph seeker kind of person. I'm not. I'd much rather have my picture taken with someone than have them sign something.

Still, AWESOME prize!!!

05-01-2010, 07:52 AM
PM sent :)

05-02-2010, 10:01 AM
OH MY GOD. I'm away for a couple weeks, and look what happens!!! :excited:

Totally awesome Grand Prize - and for a great cause to boot!! Thanks to everyone who had a part in this one. Wow. Just WOW.

05-02-2010, 12:10 PM
Is it limited to one entry per member? Pardon if I missed that info.

05-02-2010, 03:11 PM
Yeah, I think it is.

05-02-2010, 05:39 PM
That is correct. It has been that way every year for the grand prize drawing.

05-04-2010, 11:45 AM

05-04-2010, 11:51 AM
Thank you!

05-06-2010, 04:13 PM
Is that all I need to do...a note is included specifying the contest and my member name.

05-06-2010, 05:00 PM
You got it! Me and Hannah are keeping an elaborate spread sheet, it is working great again this year (it is kind of a legend).

Thanks for adding your member name though, that is really helpful.

05-07-2010, 01:37 AM
Ok Matt get your pencil for the donation bar. Its now $4,650.00 and I'm in!!!!
