It gets a 5. This is King's best this decade, hands down. Not The Dark Tower, not Under the Dome, not Lisey's Story, Duma Key.

A 3 from me. I liked some of this book (when the painting frenzy first started), but the rest seemed too long, too overwritten, and too repetitive. How many times does the accident have to be described? I got it the first time, thank you. However, I had no trouble reading this book, despite my criticisms it did flow right along.

It's very encouraging to see such high marks for this novel. I found a like-new copy of the hard back for $8 in December but haven't put it in the queue to read yet. It might be the next King I read, and from the looks of it I'll love it. I've done everything I can to avoid even knowing what it's about. Body pain and lawn jockeys in Florida or some such is all I know aside from the general consensus that it's awesome. I should have read it in time to vote but these polls came quicker than expected.

All of this, + one of the most anti-climatic endings I've ever read.

2.

Another very close to 5 but not quite. Thus, 4.

Well, I think it'll be ok. As long as it's a horror novel from King I suspect pretty much any mundane item is a bit off... Not sure where I read about that part but it must not have been tagged since I never open them on books I plan to read, or at least I thought I never did.

Cool, cool. I was just kind of joking, Kronz. You'd better watch out on this thread, though. Srsly, I'd stop reading *right now* !

Way too long.
I'm not a big fan of steve's books that deal with art or paintings: road virus, rose madder, ect.
He seems to keep going to that well but it never turns out that cool.
