Gave it a 3. I liked some of the personal stories, but I'm not scrambling around looking for my copy so that I can do a reread.

I really enjoyed listening to this read by King. The only problem is the last third of the book is pretty well useless in audio format, and I am not an aspiring creative writer (yet). The autobiographical stuff was very good and not surprisingly most of it echoed his fiction nicely. This is the only audiobook I've ever listened to.

I really enjoyed reading this one, 5.

5 from me also. I think King really knows the craft and I enjoy reading his thoughts on things.

4 from me. I really enjoyed this book. I especially agreed with King on the use of (are they called possesive nouns? I'm too lazy to look it up!), meaning THIS is correct - It was Sherlock Holmes's book, and THIS is incorrect - It was Sherlock Holmes' book. I'm picky that way too.

It is my indifference to this exact type of thing the reduces my enjoyment of this type of book.

One of my favorite audiobooks. Definitely 5.
If you never listened to an audiobook and you dig Steve listen to this.
The story about his doctor visits when he was a kid is truly painful to listen to. But completely engrossing.
Agree with Kronz about the last 1/4 but i still like steve reading it.

I voted 3. It was interesting and informative but I'm much more of a fiction than fact reader.

Being a published dark fiction writer, this book helped A LOT!

For those out there that are aspiring writers, read it!

Michael Knost's "The Horror Writer's Workshop" is amazing as well.
