This is one of the best of the 90s King books. The dialect really sucked me in and never let go, making this one of the easiest to read and enjoy of all of his books. I remember being told to not bother with it, I am glad I made up my own mind to read it anyways because as far as I can tell it's one of the great novels of the 90s by anyone.

It took me awhile to get into this one. I liked Gerald's Game better. I just didn't care about the characters in this book. I should probably give this one (and most of the books in this bracket for that matter) a reread. But for now, it gets a 3.

This one is King at his finest. One of the most engrossing books, but even more so is the character of Dolores herself. King's writing on this was such that some thought he did not write it and wondered if he had enlisted the services of a ghost writer, or so I remember reading in several reviews. King created one of his most facinating and eternal characters in her and this deserves to be ranked among his best works.

5.

...this deserves to be ranked among his best works.Maybe. However, this year at least, it gets just 4 from me.

I gave this one a 5. I absolutely LOVE this book, and thought they did a good job with the movie as well, which doesn't happen often enough for me.
