Absolutely loved this one, LOVED IT. I pray that Full Dark, No Stars is half as good.

3. It was a good read, but (and I admit this is mostly my fault, but it still hindered my enjoyment of the book nonetheless.) since I'd never really read any of the Castle Rock series before this so I didn't feel attached to any of the characters in The Sun Dog, nor was it particularly scary to me (Though the reference to the Talisman was cool). The best story in the book for me was The Library Policeman, but that's just because I love King's unique take on vampires. The Langoliers was ambitious but I didn't find it all that engaging, and Secret window...well, I'd already seen the movie so yeah.

Alas, I know someone who quit reading King after he read that story.

I don't get it. This is easily in my Top 5 of all King books. I devoured this one.

For my friend, the sodomizing of young Sam was too much.

I give this a 5 because it has my favorite short story the Langoliers in it. That's one of my favorite SK stories ever.

Langoliers was great.
the rest were very simple short stories that were waaaay too long.
Long live the toaster!

Langoliers and SWSG = both 5'2
Library Policemen and Sun Dog = 3'2

(5+5+3+3) /4 = 4 (simple math really)
