Voted so-so. Is in bears' bottom five.
I disagree, as I feel it was one of the better Bachman tales. In my top three of the Bachmans, but not in my top ten overall. I gave it a 4.

which is the third of that top three? (I presume the first is Long Walk)

I gave it a 3. I liked it, but not as well as some of the others.

This is my first, of likely very few, 1's.

You are quite right Jean, The Long Walk is first. Rage is the third one. Blaze I found to be weak, and The Regulators just never really grabbed onto me for some reason. (Neither did Desperation oddly enough.)

Oh, I liked it. Solid 4 for me. Tapped into the whole revenge thing, which is satisfying. ("Oh, yeah? Tell her I've got a curse; it's called the curse of the white man from town!"). Plus, that ending was a wowzer.

I suspected it might be Rage... while Roadwork wouldn't even earn a honorary mention... http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k291/mishemplushem/Facilitation/bear_sad.gif

Oh, there's a shocker. I bet scenes from that book shoot through your mind every time you see a "no smoking" sign.

I would give it a three. It bothers me that it's a Bachman novel since it's obviously just a sub-par King book. Apt Pupil, Cujo or Misery would have been much better choices for the pseudonym to take credit for. Mixing in supernatural stuff with Bachman just doesn't feel right to me. However I did like The Regulators, but wouldn't say it fits the Bachman name at all either.

Fast, fun read. ...Right on. It's an atmospheric, yet entertaining, adventure yarn, is what it is.Until the twist, which stands among King's most disturbing premises.
