Voted good. Very good, actually; if written by someone else, could have been the top of this someone's writing career.

Indeed, a very strong novel. I love '80s King.

Round 2 results got me thinking more politically. Still, wish I could've given this 3.5 ... Not easy to rank every book in this by the 5 point scale.

One of the three books I have given 5. And, that cover... It's amazing.

What do you mean, politically?

I mean, like, pragmatic to this contest. I might say "It was good" of nearly every single SK book if you & I were jus' chatting in some tavern... but it'd be kind of pointless to vote that way.

4. Excellent, but not one of the absolute bests.

Another 5 for me. King gets high school. In fact, he pretty much gets kids. I thought it was interesting how the book shifts from 1st person, to 3rd person, and then back to 1st for the three major sections. The transformation of Arnie is wonderfully presented. Oh, yeah, and of course the car.

I agree on Arnie's metamorphasis. It was the driving force (no pun intended) of the novel for me.

I agree. I've had to scrutinise my opinions alot more to vote as honestly as possible.

I gave Christine a 5. It was the first King book I ever read and will always have a special place on my bookshelf.

Thanks, divemaster. That pretty much sums it up. I held back a bit, though, and rated it a 4. I'm with path: wish I could add a .5 to my vote.

I can't tell if it was the lame movie or bad time of my life when I read it, but I don't remember this novel with much fondness. If I run into a cheap copy in hardback maybe I'll take it for a spin again sometime.

I misspoke. If I'd really been thinking politically, I wouldn't have announced my strategy so carelessly. I lowered my rating of Christine to lift the value of my vote for other candidates, but I think even more people may be supporting this novel now!
That's all good, though; I'm never underhanded when it comes to influencing public opinion. Ever'body just vote your consciences... I don't have any real arguments against this book. It really is pretty good.

The poll has closed. Christine has earned a FAS (final average score) of 4.068493151 or 81.37%, placing 3rd in this bracket. It will not be moving on to Round 2. In 2009, Christine placed 4th with a FAS of 3.468750000, so it gained 0.599743151 (+17.29%) this time.
